Israeli government website suspected of cyber attack, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Justice all affected

Bloomberg reported that Israeli Internet officials said on the 14th that a number of Israeli government websites had crashed due to a cyber attack, affecting the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Justice, the Social Welfare Center and the Prime Minister’s Office.

Israel’s National Cyber Authority blamed the problem on “denial of service” (DoS) or “decentralized denial of service” (DDoS) attacks, a type of cyber attack method in which attackers direct waves of unreal traffic To a website, the purpose is to exhaust the target computer network or system resources, temporarily interrupt or stop the service.

Israeli Communications Minister Yoaz Hendel held a meeting with officials in his office, and the telecommunications company took steps to restore services to normal and has resumed website operations.

Gil Messing, a spokesman for Israeli software technology company Check Point, said the situation is unlikely to cause significant damage.
